KPV is a tripeptide (Lysine-Proline-Valine) derived from the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). While alpha-MSH is known for its melanogenic (skin tanning) effects, KPV retains the potent anti-inflammatory properties of the parent hormone without causing skin darkening.
